Great App for Muse advanced user

Whàt to watch your brain eaw activity in your palm... Easy to use, efficient. Please more!!!

It works great!

I had an issue with an older version of the app, but they updated and contacted me to let me know. Im satisfied. Thanks.

Very cool

Love this app and am wondering where I can get more info on how to use it. Ive googled dB in terms of brain waves and havent come up with much. Id like to see what normal or average ranges are and how to interpret my results. For example, people often talk about getting into an alpha state...how is that determined if all waves are always going? Is it the wave with the highest dB? Thanks!

Instructions?

Could be a great app, but a lack of instructions makes it hard to understand the data and how to understand its significance. Also the export function is confusing. If this app is intended only for people with technical expertise, it should have been made clear. As it stands, it is a very expensive app with little value to the average person...

Great tool for the Muse brain reader

This is an awesome tool to get more out of Muse with specific waves reading. It also allows you to record session.

Outstanding, one small issue

I was trying to do this in the Muse lab and this app achieved everything I needed. Documentation and graphic capture are great. The contacts do not show the same level of connection as the Muse app does but if you can base it on all the graphics you can be assured you are connected on all sensors.

Nice add to the native muse app

This is a nice add to the native muse app if you want to see the actual waveforms

Grateful for this app

James, the creator, makes himself available to customers with questions – so rare for an app maker! Really happy to have a tool to break down the Muse signals into individual brain waveforms. Would love for there to be more options besides Dropbox and email for recording and saving data. Thank you, James, for all you do!

Doesn’t connect

And there doesn’t seem to be a way to contact anyone. Requesting a refund.

New User

I just got my Muse 2 and installed this software. I am very happy because this software added some neat features. The on screen graphing feature was really useful in visualizing what is happening. I am glad this program was recommended to me. The developer is very responsive with tips using his program.

Loving this app

I just got my muse and the data layouts are amazing my only questions is how can I see more intervals on the hz graph to see more specific frequency’s my brain is in

The only way to use the Muse

I’m a data geek and what I love about this app is it gives 100% pure data. The muse app makes lots of assumptions and doesn’t collect data from all sensors the entire session so mind monitor is indispensable if you want to use any other tools to look at your EEG data. Also the developer is simply outstanding. He’s incredibly responsive and knows so much about the muse and the data and it creates (more than the main company in my experience!). Highly recommend this app!

Muse EEG monitoring

This app really helpful and It made me easy to use EEG signal in my project. Thanks :)

Fascinating and helpful

I had a lot of challenges getting my Muse headband to connect to the app initially. When I reached out for help, I got a response nearly instantly. It took a lot of back and forth and troubleshooting, but James was incredibly helpful and did not give up on my technical difficulties. This is an amazing and powerful tool to see how your brain is working in real-time. Plus the online chart tool is fantastic! Highly recommend for anyone looking to get a deeper understanding beyond the Muse app.

Not at all useful for laypeople

This couldn’t be more complicated to interpret or use for the average person. And by average, I mean anyone without an advanced degree in neuroscience. I was looking for something fairly straightforward that would tell me the primary state I was in during meditation (alpha, beta, delta, etc.). It was not nearly clear enough in the description that this is exclusively for neuroscientists. If you’re not one, you’re throwing away $15. Oh and also it randomly won’t connect, even if you follow all of the troubleshooting instructions.

Indispensable tool for EEG research.

I am blown away with such a technical app and it’s capabilities. It allows the Muse devices to be used as a tool other than just for meditation, with the ability to obtain real-time data. If you find you need to do research with brain measurements or monitor meditation trends. This application is a must have! Support is top notch and the company is dedicated to providing updates and improvements. It is worth every penny.

Awesome app!!!

Super useful. Adds a whole layer of more specific data on top of the Muse functionality. Perfect tool for going deeper with the Muse and certain meditation practices 🌟

Intuitive, fun and easy to work with!

Not only is Mind Monitor way more intuitive then any other brain wave recording/ monitoring app I have ever used but it is also super easily streamable to a variety of programming languages! Using it with processing for sound and EEG wave visualizations and it is working beautifully!! Thank you James Clutterbuck!!

Worth the money

Solid product. Solid support. Nails functionality.

Amazingly detailed

I’m impressed with the level of “done” in - and with web an Excel tie-ins, outside - this app. Fifteen bucks is a pittance, one I’m glad to hand over.

Beautiful, meaningless, data visualization

The charts are pretty but unless your a neuroscientist, this readings mean nothing. The quality of the data also depends on the Muse 2 sitting property on your head. You have to sit perfectly still, can can’t talk, lest a sensor goes haywire.

Wonderful app!

If you use muse, you must try out Muse monitor which records your brain waves while meditating. It’s a huge hit on the Facebook muse community where muse monitor sessions are frequently shared and discussed in regard to different meditative techniques.

Great Alternative

If you are really interested in getting a more detailed view of your brain activity, do not settle for the Muse app that comes free with the Muse Headband. Invest a few dollars and take a deep dive using the MuseMonitor. Not only do you get more detail, but it uploads to your favorite online storage automatically for more analysis, it has a website component that allows you to view the files in different ways, and the support is outstanding. This apps adds what’s missing if you want more detail of what’s going on inside.

Great

I found Muse Monitor after buying the headset. Only app for accessing raw data that I found, and they did a great job at making it easy to understand.

This app is awesome

When I bought the Muse 2 brain sensing headband, what I was looking for was to see the different brainwaves recorded in meditation sessions. Muse Monitor does exactly this. Thank you!

Serious bugs

First it is very hard to get it connected. Also your complete session is lostif your connection to Bluetooth goes bad. All of your data is immediately lost. I had completed a 90 minute very in-depth very complicated session and I was signing into dropbox, which is strange to me why the only option for export is to dropbox. There should be a way to use google drive. Then as I was signing into dropbox I turned off my headset and the app closed out saying that I had difficulties connection. That completely deleted 90 minutes of all of my data I can’t seem to get it back.

Very cool brainwave monitoring!!

I downloaded this app about two days ago and have been playing with it along with a group of friends. While I do love the Muse app itself, I like the fact that Muse monitor gives you more information regarding your brain with activity. Using the app with friends who wanted to see their activity playback immediately, I used the iPhone screen record function to do playback rather than uploading a file from my laptop. Even people who meditate are a bit impatient to view their results :). I found the price reasonable for the information and performance that I get. 👍🏻👍🏻

Mediocore at best

Currently the only viable way to get OSC from Muse to computers and devices, or record data. Unfortunately, it records data to csv at a rate of 1hz. Its ability to broadcast OSC is even slower and is wildly variable in bursts that are seconds apart. The Muse headset overall is not a viable option if you are developing for OSC.

Muse monitor review

So I’m new to the game of trying to figure out what’s going on in my brain, but muse monitor makes it easy and painless to understand and meander around. Such great information in the app, their web site and the charts and graphs you can use. Also their tech support is fantastic, it’s really a no brainer if you have the muse headband, get this app. Thanks muse monitor

Waste

It won’t connect and the page that suppose to help you, is no longer working !

Very cool!

Much more detailed data than the Muse app. I use the Must app too because it’s great for meditation but it’s really cool to get to take advantage of the Muse Headband’s data beyond just meditation.

Fills in the Gaps

I love the muse brain sensing headband but one has to wonder what exactly they’re measuring, right? When you call them up in Toronto they just say it’s a secret. Now, I can see very clearly and very easily what exactly is going on with my alpha waves, theta waves, and even delta waves. I am not a researcher. The app has to be simple and straightforward and it is. I appreciate it.

Works as Promised

Make sure you find your computer's correct IP address to stream to and let it fly! Also, the dev was extremely quick to answer questions I had.

Works as expected!

Great support from the developer. Very pleased.

Fantastic App

I believe this to be a must have if you own a Muse. Get real time feedback on what your brain is doing. I've paired this app with my own meditation and have become super proficient at changing my personal mental states. In other words, you no longer have to be as skilled as the Dalai Lama to get the benefits from meditation and focused thoughts. With a little practice, this app can help you cultivate that skill very quickly. I wish that the app would allow the playback of old saved .csv files. Seeing the figures in a spreadsheet makes it difficult for me to interpret the data. Thanks guys.

The app muse should've come with!

Great addition to my muse headband!! Adds so much more to it. If you really want to peer into your brain in real time, this is the way to do it!

Failed to conned - Did not do any better than InteraXon

Seems like a nice product but read the connection worked a lot better than native InteraXon Muse app. Muse does not connect - have gone around with Technical Support at least a dozen interactions. Muse InteraXon app is terribly bugging per my and other reviews. Support was poor - they said buy a new device. Was hoping Muse Monitor would fix but it did not work any better unfortunately. Could well be a hardware problem.

Not for iPad Pro

Interface looks a mess on the Pro, otherwise seems to work.

Excellent app for visualizing Muse data

Was very pleased fo find this app, as it makes quick work of visualizing and streaming Muse data. Hats off to James Clutterbuck!

Display of EEG can be improved

Great application offering a multitude of ways to display the resulting EEG. However, better more conventional ways of presenting the data such as horizontal histogram presentation of the wave bands maybe easier to appreciate by users. This could be used as a biofeedback application if there was an adjustable sound feature.

Phenomenal App

Keep up the great work. This app is wonderful and really useful. A more in depth technical manual that explains the various brain waves and what they mean would be helpful. Thank you for creating this.

Needs sound

Would be much more useful if each brainwave had a different tone. That helps indicate which brainwave responds to which type of stimulation or lack thereof. I used an EKG machine in a doctor's office that did this, and it was very useful to help me clear my ADHD in one session. This app has 4 different modes in which to monitor your brainwaves, but only one makes sense to me visually. If it had tones differentiating the brainwaves, I would give it a 5 star rating. If it were $5.00, I would give it 3 stars without the sound. If I were a scientist who had a use for all the different types of graphs, it might be worth the $14.00. This app has potential before the Muse app adds the feature.

Appreciate Updates & Nice App

I use both Muse apps ... the 'official' one, and this one. I like this one, since it delivers that raw version of the pre-digested official version. Some reviews note the limited explanation ... I guess I'm ok with that, since we're basically looking at a measure outside the brain-case ... a longshot. As per the title, I appreciate the dev maintaining this app. Love it.
